MÖBILUS 2009

MÖBILUS ist eine Gartenbank aus Beton, ursprünglich entwickelt für den obersteirischen Betonspezialisten Rauter Beton. Der Hauptvorteil des modularen Designs liegt in der einmaligen Möglichkeit, ein Betonmöbel ohne schweres Gerät aufzustellen, da bei allen bisherigen Konzepten eine Beschädigung des Rasens unvermeidbar war. Mit einem Gesamtgewicht von nur 120kg und dem schwersten Einzelteil unter 70kg kann MÖBILUS problemlos von zwei Personen aufgebaut werden.
Ästhetisch betont das ikonische Design die Möglichkeiten, die ultrahochfester Beton bietet, und versucht die fluide Leichtigkeit von noch feuchtem Beton mit der Stabilität von ausgehärtetem zu verbinden.

 

MÖBILUS is a concrete garden bench developed for the Upper Styrian concrete specialist Rauter Beton. The advantage of the modular design is the possibility to set up the bench without the use of heavy tools, preventing the lawn from damage. With an overall weight of 120kg and the heaviest part with less than 70kg, MÖBILUS can easily be carried by two workers.
The iconic design showcases the abilities of the material ultra high performance concrete and tries to capture the flowing aesthetics of the still fluid concrete in combination with the rigidness of hardened one.

MÖBILUS besteht aus vier Betongussteilen und vier fix eingeleimten Sitzbalken aus Lärchenholz. Nach dem zusammenstecken der Einzelteile wird MÖBILUS mit nur zwei Schrauben fixiert.

MÖBILUS is made up of four concrete parts and four glued-in larch plywood seating surfaces. After putting the main parts together, MÖBILUS is easily fixed using just two screws.
